Prince - Charles Kudzordzi
Background:
Prince-Charles Kudzordzi is a second-year postgraduate student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, studying MPhil Parasitology. A passionate research assistant with unfeigned dedication to fighting NTDs. With over 3 years of field and laboratory experience, he serves as the Ag. Unit Head for Epidemiology at the NeTroDisOH. Focusing on the epidemiological aspects of infectious diseases of public health importance.
Research Focus and Skills:
Prince Charles has worked extensively on parasitic NTDs, including lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis, soil-transmitted helminths, scabies and schistosomiasis. His mission is to contribute to achieving the World Health Organization's 2030 goal of ending the neglect of these diseases and improving global health outcomes through rigorous research processes.
In his role, he has trained Community Drug Distributors (CDD) and volunteers in using the Esperanza Window Trap for disease surveillance, conducted community sensitization campaigns via radio to increase awareness of NTDs, contributed to developing working documents for the consortium by offering valuable insights and recommendations, and critiqued proposals and theses of students to ensure high-quality research output.
Prince is a member of the WHO Skin NTD Working Group, the British Society of Parasitology, and the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine.
Future Aspirations:
In the future, Prince aspires to advance his impact on NTDs and One Health by pursuing advanced research through a Ph.D., taking on leadership roles to inspire and mentor others, influencing policies to prioritize NTD eradication, collaborating globally to implement holistic strategies, empowering communities to take ownership of their health, and advocating for greater awareness and action on NTDs. These aspirations reflect Prince’s commitment to making a positive impact on global health and contributing to a world where NTDs are no longer a burden on marginalized communities.
